How to Read These Cocoa Prices
- ICCO daily price is the International Cocoa Organization’s reference price. It combines the London and New York markets into one figure in US dollars per tonne, and is also shown in euros.
- New York cocoa futures trade on ICE US in US dollars per tonne.
- London cocoa futures trade on ICE Europe in pounds sterling per tonne.
- Cameroon FOB is the official ONCC reference price for cocoa beans loaded at Douala or Kribi, in FCFA per kilogram, with an approximate conversion to euros and US dollars.
From Market Price to Your Contract Price
Futures prices are benchmarks, not the final price of a shipment. In physical trade, cocoa is sold at a differential above or below the market. That differential depends on origin, bean quality, certification, volume, delivery period and Incoterms. Processed products such as cocoa butter, cocoa powder and cocoa liquor are priced separately, often using a ratio to the bean price.
For that reason, BV Cocoa Products confirms every price in a written quote. Send us your product, volume and destination port, and we will quote against the current market.

What Moves the Cocoa Market
- West African harvests. Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria supply most of the world’s cocoa, so weather and crop disease there move prices quickly.
- Grinding demand. Quarterly grind figures from Europe, North America and Asia show how much cocoa processors are using.
- Stocks. Low warehouse stocks make the market more sensitive to supply news.
- Currencies. Moves in the US dollar, pound and euro change the price buyers pay in their own currency.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cocoa price today?
The table at the top of this page shows the latest ICCO daily price in US dollars and euros per tonne, plus the London and New York cocoa futures prices and the Cameroon FOB reference price. It updates automatically after each trading day.
What is the ICCO daily price?
The ICCO daily price is the reference price published by the International Cocoa Organization. It is calculated from the average of the three nearest active futures positions on the London and New York cocoa markets, converted to US dollars.
Why are London and New York cocoa prices different?
London futures are quoted in pounds sterling and New York futures in US dollars. They also reflect slightly different contract terms and delivery origins, so the two markets do not move exactly together.
Is the market price the same as the price I pay for cocoa beans?
No. Futures and the ICCO price are benchmarks. Physical cocoa trades at a differential above or below the market, depending on origin, quality, certification, volume and delivery terms. Your supplier confirms the final price in a written quote.
How often is this page updated?
The page checks for new prices every hour. The ICCO and ONCC publish one set of prices per trading day, so the figures change once a day, after the markets settle.
